loud whistling noise above 120

loud whistling noise above 120

Hey,

I took my STi up to 140mph yesterday and at around 120, there was a loud whistling noise. Has anyone experienced this before? Is it the hood intake that's making that noise?

A lot of people have experienced this with WRXs, and it's caused by the side-view mirrors. I'd imagine it's the same on the STi. Try folding in the mirrors next time...

Yes thats mostly coming from the mirrors, the fact that we have little sound deadening/frameless windows make the problem worse than it should be.

i heard it in my buddies 02 at like 145.......i work at a subie dealership and i took the sti out, i didnt get above 115 but i didnt hear it on that i thought that the noise would have gone away since they re-designed the mirrors....actually i thought that was the point
