Cupple questions from a noob
Ok so i just purchased my WRX and i want to get all the maintenance done to keep her running as good as possible. First off i have a aem intake, thermal exhaust, eibach springs, and apexi turbo timer that came on the car, will any of this void warranty? I have all the stock parts also to swap back if so. Anyway the car has just over 40,000 miles "02 WRX" and on the records he gave me all that has been done so far from what i can tell is regular oil changes. What alse should i get done at this millage? I was thinking getting the oil changed, spark plugs and wires replaced, tranny and diff oil changed and everything alse looked over. Should i stick with OEM replacements for everything including gear oils? Also should i switch over to synthetic oil or no? I know for the 40k miles he had it, synethic oil was not used.
Thanks!
Thanks!

The parts you have installed will not void your entire warranty. They will only void the part of the warranty that part. example: aftermarket exhaust will only void the exhaust part of the warranty not the entire warranty. All though the more upgrades you have on your car could hurt if you by helping them prove driver abuse and they could deny warranty that way. i would stick with the stock fluids, especialy if they have not used it befor.
Pretty much everything you have on voids your warranty. The springs will void your suspension warrenty, if anything happens to your alignment etc, your SOL. The air-intake, exhaust and turbo-timer will void both your engine and transmission warranty, SOL there too. I know it sucks.... but atleast it makes your car preform better.... hey if anything happens take your car completely back to stock and have them fix it. Oh yes and as far a maintenance is concerned, its better to go with Synthetic Oil for the engine. The spark plugs don't need to be replaced until 60K but people who care about their preformance change them every 30K miles, there are some who even replace them every 15K miles. Wires don't need to be replaced. Diff and tranny oil should be changed at 60K miles and from what I know, whatever subaru uses is pretty good, although I've been hearing good stuff about Redline gear oils. Although the talk on the forum is that you shouldn't go completely synthetic on the tranny..... Oh yeah... congrats on the WRX purchase and welcome to the club =)
Your car should have come with an additional device: the owner's manual. It give you time/materials intervals if you have any doubts, and you can always do more, sooner. With 40K on it already, 'most anything that would go South should already be near the Equator. Keep the stock parts for another 10K and hope for the best.

Another 10k? Warranty is at 60k so ill keep it how it is another 20k. So on the next oil change should i run mobil 10-w30 synthetic? Whith what filter? I know the car has never been raced/launched and the tranny feels pretty good, never had a grind, just in 1st you cannot put it in gear effortless till your almost stoped "5mph-0" which i figured was normal considering my moms brand new 350z does the same, infact u have to be at a complete stop, which i figured was normal? Correct me if im wrong. I have been stressing quite a bit after buying it hearing all these tranny stories which im guesing are from punk kids just dumping the clutch, rather then sliping. Any imput? I baby the tranny and so did the previous owner so i hope im ok. He did give me all the stock parts so if i do have to take it in. Thanks for baring with me, im about as noob as it comes to wrx's
