ClubRSX moderator considering STi

I talked with an subaru engineer friend of mine who's in NY SCCA. Turns out they're working on a total revamp of the 2006 STi (to compete with the Evo MR) and he said if I can wait that long to hold tight. Geez. Ok, so I'm deciding to wait for the 2006. I'm pretty much set on the STi now at all dead set, and it's just a matter of time before I do get it. I can afford it now, but from what he's telling me, it's worth waiting another year. Unless BMW comes out with a 3xi that's 260 hp in 2006, then I'm going STi. I test drove the 2005 Sti and I really had to bite my fingers off from preventing me from signing and leaving with a car... Damn this is a fuggin awesome car. Ugly yes, but the performance well makes up for it. For ~30k a car that can blow away most production cars on the road, it's a tough price to beat, and you can drive nicely in all weather situations.

I'm a Legacy proponent personally, but the same reason you don't like the G35 (no DIN slots) would strike it off your list; the HVAC controls are also integrated, IIRC. Stick with the STi.

Damn... my employer sent a memo about the new employee purchase programs, and Subaru was added. We now qualify for Subaru VIP Purchase program since our sales force now uses subbies. STI now qualifies to be purchased under the program at dealer invoice. Damn this is just getting harder to resist.

Muevelo, get the STi, as much as i love the Evo i think you'd be happier in the torquey Subaru. plus w/ work giving you this incentive, its a win win situation.
im looking to pick up an '05 San Remo Red WRX w/ Premium 5MT in March to replace my RSX that goes off lease in december. cant beat AWD, Turbo, and the $24,000 price tag.
ps. this is RSXster.
