Help me out,

this idea may sound crazy , I'm sure it does. A guy in PA is selling an 04, he might even read this post, I'm in CO unfortunately so a test drive is kinda out of the question. But the car has 12*** miles under warranty. My question is if the warranty transfers to me, then if sh** breaks it can be fixed right? I don'tthink the car is modded so dealer would only be able to say something broke from abuse. Yes it's a private seller, far away, but its an 04 in my price range under warranty. So help me from making a stupid decision, one way or another. Thanks

i want you to put your feelings in the closet-cuz i am gonna be honest. first of all yes it is crazy. i will buy shoes, shirts, pants and poke(those from hawaii know what i'm talkin about) without trying it first. but why would you even cater the thought of spending thousands of dollars without testing the product first? second if you "think" the car hasn't been modified thats not a wise way of thinking. i sell cars for a living...u won't believe what i've heard and seen- "oh yeah, the car runs perfect"-and as soon as they trade it in, come to find out the car has some serious unforseen damge. if the guy never even modified his car, what if he pounded the living daylights out of the car and never changed the oil? not that i'm saying the seller is dishonest- IMO if u can't drive it don't buy it. buy one locally patience will pay off-

bottom line is its your money... act like you want to spend it wisely
just tryin to help.... in a blunt sorta way of course

Get an 03 and in a few years you'll be able to get a new car. Also the biggest depriciation is during the first year, so an 03 would make sense.

may I ask what your price range is? You might be able to get a new one and you don't even realize it.

and the warranty provided by SOA sucks anyway. It's a ***** to get service for legitimate problems, and you'll probably end up voiding the warranty through mods anyhow

There's a couple guys in the bay area forums selling right now. One guy is putting his car to stock ('03) and selling it. You might check there.

i say never buy until u test drive a car....i know this from experiance...i'm on of the fools who bought a 300zx on ebay, it was ok for the first week, but after nothign but problems, maybe i would of known if i checked out the car personally before i bough it. With my WRX, i test drove a 5MT and ended up buying a a/t w/o test driving the a/t....and boy im a missing out on lots of things.....=( so i got the TC moded by protorque and is sitting in my garage waiting to get it installed ( during my spring break) so hopefully that will change my experiance.
