Bleeding Brakes
I have a 2000 Impreza 2.5 RS.. i need to replace a caliper and i have stainless steel lines i want to put in.. is there anything special that i need to do when bleeding the lines... and if i only do one caliper will i need to bleed all of them??? HELP!!!!
If you are swapping out all the lines, you will have to bleed each line in turn - and there is an ideal order (far corner first IIRC?). There is a how-to on www.scoobymods.com. If you are just swapping out one caliper, you might get away with only bleeding that line.
Bleeding the brakes isn't difficult, but it is a two person job. One to pump and apply pressure to the brake pedal, the other to open and close the bleed nipple. You can make life easier by getting speed bleeders for your car: http://www.speedbleeder.com/ This makes it a one person job. These are also discussed on subymods.
All this said, I have only bled brakes on other cars - not subys, so if anyone else has real world experience - chime in
