ball joints???

ball joints???

have a 96 outback when i make sharp turns i can feel it slipping think it might be the ball joints but not sure anyone have any suggestions on what is may be thanks

Is it slipping or is it binding up in the rear end. If it's binding up, it's more than likely either transfer clutchs(auto) or a viscous cuppler(manual).

You can check the ball joint if you jack up the front of the car. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try and move it. if you feel play, it's either ball joint or wheel bearing movement.

cv joint

put it up on a lift and the ball joints were fine but found that the passenger side cv joint had some play in it, has anyone replaced one themselves i got the haynes repair manual and it does not seem that bad but let me know if anyone has worked on one or not thanks
