get whatever will fit your needs, or your families's. i got an auto so that my mom and sister could drive it if they needed to, and also for rush hour commute laziness. there are moments that i wished i have a manual, but overall, i like my automatic.

From: Are you too one of the few still living the past? Well I can change that! With a simple wicket. Yes, my friend, a wicket. PM for details.
Car Info: No car right now....sob.
i have a stick, course, it is an STI, but, if you live in Texas with minimal hills, traffic really isn't a PITA to be in. just pop it in neutral, and keep your foot on the brake. when the light goes green, shift, and go. also, if you have a stick, there is a more selective group of who can drive your car. if your sister or whoever needs to borrow your car, oops, sorry, it is a stick.

i spend an hour to 90 minutes a day on the capital beltway going from nortern virginia to the college park, md area. talk about traffic. right now i have a 95 accord with a 5 speed and after i move into my house and can afford to get a new WRX/STi i'm getting another manual. like sonicsuby said you get used to it.

get an automatic when you're an old timer with bad knees. for now get the manual and enjoy the road.

the manual transmission will be fine as long as you dont drive the crap out of your car...(ie. slamming into gears, popping the clutch, launching). Just go easy and everything will hold up fine.

i was in the same dbate almost 4 months ago. the dealer i got my car from had exactly what i wanted on the lot but it was auto...i knew i wanted manual but i only ever had auto cars and i was terrible at driving manual. Well after a huge debate (and my friends tellign me theyd laugh at me for buying a auto WRX) i decided to get the 5 speed. I had to bring my friend to the dealer with me to pick the car up tho. he drove it home for me and taught me how to drive it within an hour. Dont worry about never getting it right..youll get it ...just have a good friend or relative (one that wont yell at you or make you nervous) teach you the ropes...and practice a lot

i am so glad i got the manual...it feels like im driving the car as opposed to riding in it
