7500 mile service?

I just recieved a mailing from my dealer that says i am ready for the 7500 mile service. I had an oil change at 6000 miles and my next one is not due til 9000 miles. The mailer says that for the discount price of 74.95 i can get an oil change, tires rotation, topp off all fluids, checkbrake wear, belts& hoses inspection, tire pressure, check exhaust, and lights. and adjust parking brake.

My problem with this is that i have an aftermarket tbe(just installed), i have aftermarket wheels and tires that i just put on(new), my oil isn't due for 1500 more miles, i can check my fluids, and hoses and belt, ilooked at my brakes and they are fine. I don't know how to adjust the parking brake but i think it is ok, and what the hell is adjust the rear brakes(isn't that just for drums?). Oh and my lights are fine.

Is this a rip off or what? Oh it also says lube doors and chassis. how do you do that? I need some help here. I am not paying $80 for an oil change and tire rotation. If you can help me with the parking brake adjustment, and rear brake adjustmen?, and the lubing chassis and door hinges.

I know this is a long post but this kinda pissed me off. Let me know what you guys think.

Also it says at 15,000 miles i need a tranny service. i have an mt. i don't think i need a service. thanks guys.

The 30k service is crap too. The dealerships charge an arm and a leg for some monkey to look at your belts, brakes and a few other things, then replace your coolant and oil, fuel filter and I think brake fluid..

You can do most of it yourself, then use the money you saved to pay for a high quality coolant system flush that is much better than what the dealer would do (they just drain and refill), then get a nice fuel filter installed and replace your brake flud. voila.

Use that additional left over money to take your girl to dinner.

Thanks for the advice. My wife used to work as a service manager at a small Ford dealer and she said the same thing. Fuel filter is a must at 30k. I want to upgrade my brake pads, lines and fluid anyways so i'll just do it at 30k. What about the mt tranny fluid. Any suggestions on when to service. I will probably go to syn when i do this. I just cannot believe what a ripp off this is.

Have you signed up with my.subaru.com ?

It's a site provided by Subaru to track your maintenance records, keep you up to date on services and recalls and stuff. It's a good resource.
