I don't really like the way the 06 looks at all. I especially do not like the tail lights, but maybe it will grow on me. The changes I know about is the torque split has changed, the engine mounts are liquid filled reduce vibration, theres an improvement to the transmission to give 4, 5, and 6 gears a smoother engagement and the 06 sit lower because of the improved struts.

The 06

As I sit in my office every day staring at the mug of the 06 sti, I grown to love it. In fact, the new front end just looks a whole lot meaner than the previous models. In the last three weeks I have driven the 04, 05, and 06 repeatedly and sometimes all three in the same day. THe 06 just feels so much more refined in the handling. It just feels like subaru finally found the perfect balance in struts springs and diffs to make the car turn perfectly. I believe that the new steering input sensor make a huge amount of difference when driving the car hard and losing the back end. The 06 STI is a COMPLETE package with almost no flaws in design and power to handling balance. IT is so balanced that it almost feel dull. In my opinion the 06 is the greatest performing STI to date and still would be a great purchase, even if a newly revised STI came out. If you really think about it, the STI is already too much car for most people, would a better STI make you a faster, more skillful driver?

right on lazybumm. I totally love my 06 white STI. And, I especially love all the looks I get from 04/05 STI owners on the road.

I'll admit the 06's are nice in person............I personally still like the the bugeyes over any model. Currently I do own a 05 sti what really like about it is the fact that it is in CGM which makes a rare/an uncommon color for this body style and year.
