That price isn't bad, but you're throwing away $5000 in depreciation by trading in a car less than a year old. There aren't enough differences between the '04s and '05s in my mind to justify that.

You can do better than that on a new STI. There are some at Santa Cruz for like 33,500. Plus if you order one it is even cheaper, but then you have to wait a little while.

Whoops! I read too many threads every day. I can think of one very good $5000 reason to trade a WRX for an STi.

And yes, you can do better than $34,500, but IMO the car is worth that much. Remember, that's including $3k+ in tax and fees.

1st... where is this pit of money you fell into... i'd like to know.
2nd... invest wisely huh? a car is not the right way to "invest" more like "devest"
nah, not trying to crap u out.

personally i don't recommend it(look up my profile u will see y).

unless u like the pretty dash. and the 8 inch wide rims, stereo system and dccd controls all in one spot...
not to mention all the other little knick knacks u get...

It aint worth it just to say "I got an '05 STi....yeah...it does look like a SAAB on the inside...BUT!.....it's an '05 STi!!!!!!" idk. Waste money. Keep your WRX and invest that sum into it. You'll have something fater than an STi.

I disagree. Dollar for dollar, the STi is a better value than a modded WRX. The gearbox, the brakes, the wheels, and the suspension alone would cost you around 10k. Then there's the engine itself. You can get the basic performance number of your WRX to equal a stock STi for less than $30k, but you'll be abusing your 5MT and you won't have the newer, nicer car. Also, an STi with $2k in mods will run rings around most WRXs with $7k in mods. It's just plain a better car to mod.

I agree, I used to have an 03 WRX and I traded it in for an 05 STI and it is amazing! All around it is an outstanding vehicle. For the amount of money you would be putting into a WRX you are better off just getting the sti. It has the 2.5L engine and the 6spd tranny that you can mod and that thing would blow you away.

oh, my mistake- through my blindness i misread your post-
from a wrx to STi- i say yes. its a much better value per dollar than trying to match it with a wrx. if you must have the extra power, handling and dccd along with the other electronic goodies... then get it.
