i dun think its about the car but what you can afford, cause the sti is still around 30,000, but evo mr is around 55,000 from what i've seen around the internet. so u figure u can get something a lil better with 55gs

i say you get the sti. Subaru is a more reliable company in my opinion and around where i live i havent seen the sti at all but i have seen about 4 evos
so i guess what im trying to say is go with the STI: alot more rare (at least in my area), and i think it looks better, and possibly save some money

evo 2nd class
I own an sti .I love the car .My friend owns l.m.r.late model rebuilders and he says the mitsubishi is second class all the way . He tears and rebuilds for a living .also look at who finishes the rallys.if you want the extra .5 sec. do some add ons. I think for the money its hard to compare .They are both marvels. For what its worth what boost is the evo running 19 or so ?.boost your sti to 19 and see what you get .Im a little predjudice for the sti but would still like to own one of each.

GO WITH THE STi!!!!
STi is a very balance car, although the weight distribution are the same. But the weight position on Sti is much closer to the center than EVO. STi has its engine mounted above the front control arms, but EVO has it in front of front wheels. That is a bad (wrong) decide of the VII and VIII; look back to EVO VI and V. The engine is mounted right above the control arms, and it makes a big different in the balance of weight.
Also the locking center differential that STi standard would make a big different in some races. In mud rally, a 60/40 or 50/50 would be great; and 30/70 would be good in day and highway. EVO doesn't have it...
Also no matter how EVO try to push more force into the engine; 2.0l is still a 2.0l. The lack of lower end would never catch up with STi, even though STi chats on the engine size (2.5l). Other than that, there are more things to make Sti more race car than an EVO VIII.
