01 rs manual
Or, you can just go to the Subaru tech website, http://techinfo.subaru.com/html/index.jsp , and get the 72-hour subscription for $20. You can then download the manual directly from the source, along with other relevant tech documents for your car such as TSB's.
The EBay manuals are unauthorized copies of the Subaru manuals that people have burned and are selling, and are generally the ones for the '02-up. Don't expect to find any for the earlier years.

At the official Subaru site mentioned above by Mulder I was able to download the complete service manuals in PDF for my brother's '98 Forester. IIRC, you're limited to so many megabytes per hour of download time to save their bandwidth. I think they give you a few days to get everything so it's not a problem. You'll probably have to enable cookies on your web browser so that they can associate you with your payment and download time. It's a nice service to have available.

As I mentioned the time limit is 72 hours. I believe the download limit is 20 files per hour, so even with a broadband connection (an absolute must) you will need to budget a good deal of time to get all the files you need. It will also be necessary to spend some time afterward organizing all the files, but for the cost it's well worth it. I just wish this service had been available when I bought my car and wanted the manual, I had to buy the hard copy version @$300.
