From what ive been reading stoptech systems are the way to go. I dont have personal expirence with them but heres what ive gatheredd from articles and other peoples coments: 1. they perform just as well as brembo's, willwoods, ect. 2. they cost much less than other comprable systems. 3. they do not have to be constantly rebuilt and or cleaned like some other systems. 4. they look pretty damn good, and, like I said, are up to the task. If you can get your hands on the last sport compact issue with the sti vs. wrx test you will see a lot of the aftermarket brakes were stoptechs.

As mentioned, StopTechs are popular, but require 17" (not all will have necessary clearance) or larger wheels. This is a front brake upgrade - stock rears are fine.

ION Performance offers their own kit that fits behind factory 16" wheels. There are some issues with the AP-supplied calipers but ION is working hard to resolve them in future kits. ION offers a rear brake upgrade to match the fronts, but is mostly for cosmetic reasons.

Both of these kits will offer much greater stopping ability and heat dissipation over the factory front brakes, but may require a stickier compound tire than the OEM RE-92s for maximum performance.

I have no experience with either of the two kits mentioned above, but will be trying a cheaper route of stickier tires, DBA slotted calipers, Axxis pads, stainless steel brake lines, and high-performance brake fluid.

Have you searched the i-Club Brakes forum for recommendations?

check it.

Go to this web site and check out the brake upgrades for subarus. http://www.optauto.com/webstore/. They have a oem willwood upgrade that fits all wheel sizes. I am going with this upgrade so I can run my snow tires.

The willwoods look good on paper but ive heard they have problems. Mainly that they build up a lot of dust and need to be cleaned and broken down frequently. If this doesnt bother you then go for it. Anybody got willwoods?
