i love the first one... it's so enjoyably bad in the acting and plot department that the quotes are kinda 'goofy-endearing' and you can really snuggle up to the poppy-feel of the movie.
i'd just prefer that the WRX stick to it's very enthralling US commercial spots and Option auto appearances... you know that they won't take it into rally-like conditions in the next movie- it'll just give a distorted view of the workses personality...
can you imagine Vin Diesel saying, "Hey, These Parts are STi... They're pink for a reason, I Ain't No Fairy"

While I never saw the first movie, and can't say as I think much of Vin Diesel's acting ability (and yes I can actually see him sayin that) for the record, he isn't in the second movie, which with luck will also mean it's the last one (but I won't hold my breath)

yup, there is a WRX in the second one........and it's driven by the lead actor.........the one who played BRIAN SPILLNER in the first movie. and by the preview.......yes......the acting is just as bad as the first one....HAHA!!!!! let's hope the driving is better!!!!

You guys ought to read up on Paul Walker, I know he comes across a little fake in the movie, but this guy grew up on the west coast and actually was raised racing domestics with his father. He actually owns two Skylines one which he will be driving in the new movie. Not trying to promote him, but I think it's the producer/director's fault for the stupid lines in the movie.

The bright orange WRX that is in 2 Fast 2 Furious has been in a few past advertisements for Falken tires before the movie began filming. But I didn't think that Paul Walker drove it... in the trailer, you only see him driving the silver Skyline and the green Evo VII.
From one car fan to another, don't hate on the movie, just watch it. Sure, it will more than likely have a weird storyline, bad acting, and dumb lines, but the first one did as well. You didn't watch The Fast and the Furious for those reasons; you watched it to see some car scenes, and you got them. Disregard the fact that they segregated races in the first race scene and how they talk about stuff that doesn't make sense; you all know that you were impressed by the visual effects and stunts of the racing sequences. That's why I wanted to watch it. The second one should have some good sequences as well. But keep in mind that it is John Singleton who directed it (but I don't know how his name came up in the producers' minds), so that means there is a chance that the dialogue should be less cheesy (considering how it would be nearly impossible for it to get any dumber).
And if the WRX was the main car, even more people would buy them, soup them up, and crash them, further increasing insurance rates on those cars. And as another side note, I write movie scripts in my spare time, and in this one movie (not really a car movie but a movie with one or two nice car sequences), the main car is supposed to be either a modified (but not riced-out) WRX or an STi. Let's hope I can finish the script and ship it to people.

it's an STI that's in the movie. i was out the other night seeing Tears of the Sun and there was a very long review. there were shots of paul walker driving....and some of the scenes showed him inside the car....you could see the aluminum face STI steering wheel and the aluminum trim around the shifter. so i'm pretty sure it was an STI. there was an article i read a while ago about an RX-8 being in there.......we'll see if that car pops up!!!
