Why do wrx's burn oil so fast.!?

So there's my question basically.. Why do wrx's burn threw oil so fast ? I just got my 07 an I absolutely love it except the fact I have changed my oil 2 within 5, 000miles. Now I was told that your suppose to change the oil ever 3,000 just like any other car. Is that true or should I change it earlier? As of right now I am a little low on oil as we speak. I have had a full synthetic oil change done and my local shop but the didn't tell me the weight of penzoil. What would that weight be so I can ok a little me in until I get my oil changed

I have a stage 2 STi and I run Rotella T6 5w-40 and I never burn oil. I change it after approximately 3000 miles. Some oils don't mix well with the boxer engine.

I have 119K and don't drip any oil at all. Cars that leak oil have not been properly maintained or may indicate a more serious issue. If you don't have actual DRIPS indicating leaks, you are burning oil and that could mean blow-by or a possible head gasket issue (do a compression check as mentioned above).

5W30 is the recommended weight.

Between 3 WRXs over 10 years, built and dying motors aside, I've never burned more than half a quart.
