My '05 does not burn oil; engine, tranny, etc.
However, it does stink like burning oil.
I assume it's normal for a new car to stink for awhile.

have 3400 miles on it now. I did 1 change myself at 1000-1500 w regular dino oil. Am about to do next oil change and looks to be between .5 -1 qt low. I have read that burning oil is normal for a turbo vehicle. Not gobs of oil, but like a quart every 3-4000 miles.

Be careful what type of oil you guys use. Costco chevron or target oil burns faster than gasoline 8). I know some people will tell you "Big companies buy the same oil, but put it in their own bottle for profit", but after 4 turbo cars, its not true. Using Penzoil, Castrol, or other higher brands will reduce oil consumption. Synthetic oil burns the least, but becareful using it on an engine under 5k miles.
Also be aware that the thicker the oil, the less you will lose. 10w-30 isnt a very good idea to use on any turbo car because it doesnt supply enough oil pressure into the turbo.

I just had my '05 oil changed last week @2400 miles. This is after I checked the oil level which was at mid point on the dipstick. I never had this problem before on my '02 WRX/impreza. The dealer said that this is normal. So I went ahead and changed oil instead of adding in oil. Another thing that puzzles me is the the dipstick that I can't seem to figure out the "true" reading.
