Why dealers treat adults better than kids
So i got my clutch fixed finally, after my dad took it in. when i did, i got the run around and so have lots of my friends. i just want to make this post and here peoples thoughts about how parents get more respect than "kids".
The way i look at it is, is that kids are the dealers future customers, not to mention kids seem to get into there cars more than a grown up would, so i would think dealers would want to be just as nice or nicer to kids.
I understand that we are mostly viewed as "deliquents" until we prove ourselves otherwise or turn a certain age, but still. i just don't get there reasoning behind not respecting kids as much as adults!
thoughts?

i think its the person who your dealing with. If you go in there and u talk to them like you dont know what your talkin bout then i think their going to take advantage of you. if you talk like you know whats going on and dont take no smack from them i think they would respect you more. you gotta show respect to get respect. remember that

the first showroom i walked into gave me the run around....i had a blank check in my pocket. the second showroom took me seriously and i wrote that check out to them for the full amount of the car too bad for the first guy!!!!
it's all where you go.....but for the most part dealers don't wanna talk to kis cause kids don't have money. i know it sucks....it's just the way it is!!!!

by the time you get that money that you will have in the future, that salesman won't be working there anymore to see any of it. and even if he was, whats the probability that you will go back to him? A salesman is there to make money, and who does he have a better chance of making money off of? the kid or the adult?

actually..now that i think about it.....
the first dealership i walked into........it was evening and i was wearing wind pants and an etnies shirt with my cap on. i had just gotten home from the gym. i did not recieve a warm welcome there. the price was insane and they were not very willing to move on it.
the next day i walked into a different dealership and had on my work clothes (bizz casual) and i recieved a very warm welcome. just goes to show you that looks can be a big aspect of getting what you want.
just an idea.......next time you head into a dealership.....put on a pair of khaki pants and an izod shirt.....i bet you get some really good service it sucks, but it's the way it works. i used to shave my head but i grew out my hair cause my customers were not diggin it.....oh well....whatever the customer wants.......the customer gets!!!! later, riggs

thats an example showing that they shouldn't base their judgment on appearence and should treat everyone the same. but they don't

Though people shouldn't act on them, first impressions are what we have to go on. So obviously if you walk in being an *** to the guy or you are kind of unsure about what you want from the salesman then you are not gonna have a good experience. Walk in dressed well and know what you want. Be the first to say something to the sale guy and make him come to you. It scares the hell out of them to see a customer with some *****. Trust me if you go in and be assertive while still being polite you'll be surprised about how far you get.
