What ocatane gas is good for an RS?
I've been putting 93 in my 99 2.5RS. I have not had any problems yet. but if a car isn't supposed to use high octane, you shouldn't put it in there. Plus, If I don't need 93, I might as well save my money. I have seen no posts on this topic, so any input would be welcome.

I always put 89 in my 01 RS. It seems to run perfectly fine. Although, sometimes when I give alot of gas under load(like third gear @ 20mph) I can hear pinging. I have put 93 octane in and heard the same thing.

WHere are you located? The octane you need to put in changes with your elevation.
Higher Elevation = you dont need high octane at all... 87 will do in almost all cases
Lower Elevation = need higher octane though lower will still most likely work
Correct me if Im wrong though
Cheers

i tested out 87, 89, and 93 octane 3 consecutive fillups and didn't notice any significant change in mileage. as for more power my crappy butt dyno didn't notice anything different. all i felt was my pockets getting lighter.
