I agree with Cabal...personally, I'm not that paranoid (or maybe smart enough). But there are a lot of weird people out there and this is a forum where ideas are thrown around And, as an example, if something was ever to go wrong and you disagree with some whacko's idea's on the forum and you guys get into a heated argument, he being the psycho that he is, can check the pics of ur car and get ur license. I got a friend who's dad is a insurance agent and they have a database where I can get all the addresses and phone numbers, amount of cars, etc just but checking the license plate number if I ask him to do me a favor. Just a preventative measure I guess. Example sounds kinda farfetched but who knows?!?! Or maybe some people see the pics of ur 911 along your WRX and your EVO and your Skyline. Somebody out there might be ballsy enough to find out where you live and try to swipe ur money and cars. Soooooo...be afraid. Be REAL afraid.

In some places, there are certain mods which are heavily frowned upon and there are assclowns who would browse these boards looking for easy 'Kills'.
Also, there are other criminals who might like to steal your car, and if they knew where it was likley to be parked every night it just makes it all the easier to do so.
There are other real reasons to hide your personal information as much as possible, and if you are naive enough not to do so, then you are a fool.

Don't be a fool thinking that posting whatever you want won't end up biting you in the *** somewhere down the line.

I once gave him the license plate of a guy who did a hit and run, he gave me his address, phone number, last 3 addresses, nearest relatives address and a whole crap load of info about what he buys and how often he charges. basically by the time i read the lil report he pulled, i knew more about the guy that the guy probably knew about himself

he said that anyone can get a report done like that if they wanted, for about 100 bucks

hence, i blur mine up.
that...and, well, everyone else is doing it

it is to prevent against theives. lets say i'm looking at stealing cars hey lets check out some forums and walla all this juicy information on what the guy has installed. so i know under his hood he has all these performance parts and in his cabin all these stereo equipment. but best of all he has this type of alarm with this type of fuel/engine cut out system.

when you drive around the streets you would never know that person has installed $20K of performance parts plus $10k of stereo equipment. you can probably guess but won't truely know.

so people who blur their plates are being cautious. much like people who don't go around town flashing off all their stuff with a sign saying hey look at what i got.

Ewa Beach. On O'ahu. Not too bad a place, just plenty of ricers and a fair share of little incidents involving cars.
