Warranty vs. Stupidity

Like everyone else said, you technically should have to pay for all of it.
Downshift, do you know how engines work? You don't blow transmissions by driving past redline. If you just floor it the car will cut the fuel around 7300 (I think) to prevent the car from overrevving. It will not seriously hurt the car or transmission. If you downshift from 5th to 2nd the rpm's will go up to whatever speed the gears are going and the car has no ability to stop that and that is bad. CrazyCrizack brought the rpm's up to 6000 and droped the clutch. This is bad because all of that power has to go somewhere, the tires are not going to spin enough to dissapate it so it goes to the transmission which is too weak to do this sort of thing and it goes pop.

.....i just posted a huge message but its not here so i'll just summerize what i was trying to say. This thread is getting more and more meaningless everyone posting on this thread has told me im an idiot pretty much. the point of this thread wasnt for everyone to judge my wreckless attempt to do something the car wasnt designed to do. i learned a hard lesson and as my car still sits in the shop waiting for me to get up enoguh money to pay for it i have had more than enough time to think about what i did so i dont need to hear it from everyone else, thank you. I was simply asking a harmless question about the warranty because i've heard conflitcing views on my situation but i've already come to the conclusion that its not worth brigning up because i was looking for suggestions not critisizm. A hard lesson learned and a stupid one this i know but i also know it will never happen again. It's a beautiful car and i love driving it but curiousity and inexperience mixed with a bad situation braught me to where i am today waiting to pickup my brand new car at the shop...So please if you dont mind holding off on the bombardment of stupidity comments i'd greatly appreciate it, Thanx.

I have a similar issue with Subaru voiding my warranty. I wasnt doing clutch drops when my trans went. Mine broke because of a broken clutch that they put in my car. I have been fighting them for well over a month now. Total bill for a new trans, clutch, pressure plate, etc? $4818.00!! The boat you are in F-ing sucks dude, I have been there, and it doesnt sound like you are going to get any help from them. Luckily, I have the broken clutch that will play a major part when I sue the pants off of them.

well yea specially if it wasnt your fault damn straight they should pay for it. thats the whole pint of a warranty, but they'll try to get away with anything they can to make you pay for it. I'm pretty sure a broken clutch and a shattered clutch are two different kinds of damages so you should def not have to pay a penny. Good luck to ya. I'm actually finally going to pick it up today, going to drive around for hours its been over a month im feeling very deprived. It only took me a month to get to 3280 miles!

yea basically from 6krpm to 7krpm u wont have time to shift, and thatll hurt ur tranny since u were gassing it, and gassing it will make the needle hit 7krpm in a split second. and past redline in a split second and then ouch.
. If you downshift from 5th to 2nd the rpm's will go up to whatever speed the gears are going and the car has no ability to stop that and that is bad. downshifting from 5th to 2nd is so stupid, u will f u k up your tranny if your already at 6000rpm fool.

ok im not tryin to pick any fights here, i think maybe you should go back to the beginning of the thread and read my first post again. I know what i did wrong and i understand the warranty so once again, THIS THREAD IS MEANINGLESS. Hence forth, STOP POSTING ON IT unless you have something intelligent to say which you have provided nothing of the sort.
