Thanks for the kind words everyone! Its very nice to see that our customers are happy with our services. 85-90% of our business comes from word of mouth referrals, so we really appreciate all of your input.

Thanks

I would actually recommend getting the AP and at least putting a good safe, stage 1 map on the car right away for a good, safe break-in period with minimal knock. Also, remember that its important to give the engine some light boost during the first 100-200 miles of the break-in to seat the rings well.

There's a problem with the 2011 ecm calibration?

Of course I haven't seen a 2011 OEM calibration yet, but judging by every OEM STI calibration since 2007, I would say it will most likely have some significant issues. The main one being the OL/CL switchover delay that keeps the ECU in the closed loop fueling mode for a significant amount of time after the driver transitions into boost. This causes an excessively lean condition under boost and usually a significant amount of knock on our 91 Octane pump fuel. I would imagine that as a tuner, you would be well aware of this issue that has been present since 2004 in the WRX and since 2007 in the STI.

Thanks

awesome thanks man, sounds like you have a great shop because ive heard nothing but praise while doing my research and talking to people, its pretty rare that when i ask somebody their opinion on a shop its a unanimous thumbs up

and thanks for the info, sounds like ill be ordering the AP before i even have the car haha any other tips for the break in as well? for my current wrx i basically only did an oil change at 500,1500, and then at 3500 miles with conventional oil, i dont even have the car but the STi is going to be my baby haha

You had it about right on the oil change schedule, although I usually don't recommend switching to synthetic oil until about 8-10k miles. My main recommendation is to make sure you give the engine some boost and a lot of engine braking within the first 50-100 miles of its life. Our built engines usually see boost within the first 10 miles

Thanks

dont worry about it

if you read the thread youll get it, ed said that i should get an ap as soon as i get the sti, so i will, in order to get the ap when i get the sti, i would have to purchase it before i get my car, apparently itll help break in

A good base map will help with a nice safe break-in. I really only recommend purchasing an AP if you plan on running multiple maps in the future such as race gas, meth injection, etc. Otherwise, the more cost effective option is an OECU tune. Give us a call sometime and we can go over your options.

Thanks
