Question Top seed on WRX with mods that i have

I have a WRX with ALOT of mods coming. I am wondering, even with all the modifications that are on the WRX, will the top speed still be the same because of the 5 speed tranny?

In a nutshell - Yes.

Assuming you use the Ecutek to remove the speed limiter first, you can push the engine through the roof in terms of power, but the car will always be limited to transmission gearing and final drive. FOr more speed, look to your gearbox and diffs for ratio changes. Of course, two things jump to mind:

1) A minimally-modded WRX will easily break triple-digit speeds...WHERE do you intend to use or need that much speed? (Power I understand, from an acceleration standpoint....but speed?)

2) With no suspension or aerodynamic mods listed, you'll lose grip and control far sooner than you'll hit top speed as limited by gearing anyway.

Good luck either way.

I didn't see any braking mods listed either....my stock pads were fading heavily at the track and I have a lot (a lot) less power than you.

have you only modded the engine, or did you not include Aero/suspension/braking???

Is there anything that WON'T break "triple-digit" speeds? A fullsize stock Outback wagon will do over 100. A stock WRX sedan can do about 140.

utec, ecutek, and an mbc . . . why? don't take this the wrong way, but I think you need to do some more research.

with all those upgrades a tranny should be on the list unless you like shattering gears...

What type of tranny do you suggest?

What is wrong with a utec, ecutek, and an mbc?

I am new to this. I bought the car with all the things mentioned allready on the vehicle.

utec and ecutek is redundant, and mbc is just something you don't want. i hope you have gauges, too. just browse around the EM and WRX Engine forums. brake and suspension mods are a must when you have extensive engine work.

There's a redline limiter I'm sure, isn't there? BTW, I've reached 140mph in mine.
