Thread response problem
I've been a proud member of i-club since about april and words cannot describe how helpfull it has been. I've learned things about subaru's that i never thought i would know on every level. But i've noticed that on occasion there will be many threads that some poor guy asked a simple question and it will never get answered (assuming i dont know how to help him). It seems like people enjoy extending threads that have long been answered. If a thread titled "Which exhaust should i get"? has 50posts im pretty sure his question was answered long ago. Now im not saying everybody does this because i've been helped many times by some great guys, but still the problem exists. About 3 weeks ago i posted a question "what turbo comes on the stock 2005 legacy GT?" I thought it was a vf-39 but i really wasnt sure. Seems like a simple question right? but for some reason it never got 1 response. Maybe it seemed to stupid to answer but i've seen much worse. Now that i got that out of the way, who wants pizza??
Unfortunately, at least for me, I don't have time to read every thread, so I miss a few that I know the answer to.
Anyway, the 05 Legacy GT doesn't come with a VF39, it comes with a VF40.

No i deff know what your saying, i guess my point is when u enter a particular topic the goal should be to look for an unanswered thread first. Than move towards ones that have 1 or 2 responses, the goal isnt to look for ur FAVORITE topic but one that you may know more about than another person. And thanks for the answer, i figured since its just a detuned STI motor it might have the same turbo but good to know.
Its actually a slightly smaller turbo plus the intercooler mounts in a different way -- side flow as opposed to top-down flow -- and so the way the intercooler and turbo interface is different then on the Imprezas.

For all members, it's very helpful to give your thread a title that sums up your question or thoughts in as few words as possible and the best title would have been what I quoted above. Next, pick one forum that best suits the topic. Since the stock Legacy GT turbo is not an aftermarket unit, I would have chosen the Legacy General forum or just the General forum.
You'd be surprised how many newer members post a question and then give the thread a title like, "Quick Question!!!" or "Need Help ASAP!!!". I've noticed that the threads with well-worded titles will often get quicker and more serious replies, assuming the topic is something that can be answered. The stock Legacy GT turbo might seem like something that can be answered easily by anyone on this board but I didn't know the answer. Hence, I wouldn't have replied to your post.

Ah, it was in the aftermarket turbo forum. That explains why I didn't see it. I don't know much about aftermarket turbos, so I stay away from there usually, but if the question was in the Legacy forum (where it has been asked before), I would have been all over it.
