Thoughts Of New Sti
Guys and gals just wanted to get your views on the new sti,
Personally i think it looks a liitle like an Alfa Romeo...a little less japanese. But i think it is lighter than the bug eyz model and has a bigger engine. In Aus its got a 2.5 lt turbo, all the previous wrx's were 2.0 lts. .. so its interesting...express your pain or luv for it..

Designer of '06 model Impreza formerly worked with Alfa Romeo so the similarity in the grille is not a coincidence. This was discussed in another thread several weeks ago.

snicklous,
have you seen one in person yet? Just curious to know. Alot of people's opinion has changed a bit after first hand sighting.
Also, what do you do at Lemoore? Are you Navy? I ask 'cause I used to be in a squadron that moved to Lemoore in 2003.

Very true phrase...I hated the design and here I am, 7 months later with one in my garage.
I own one also, I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. The 06 is more aggressive looking than the 05. The extra half litter doesn't hurt either. I like the interior and tail lights of the 05 wrx better. I really don't like the blue subie emblem they bolted to the trunk deck. I rather have a clean look (no emblems or letters) like the 05.

Some days, I like the 06 Sti and some days I don't. I think the front looks aggressive especially if you put a lip on it but there's too much going on in the front that gives it so much attention and I don't like to have that much attention on a car. I don't like the taillights; they look too ricey to me. Overall, I like the 06 and i'm still undecided in getting an 05 or an 06 Sti. Seeing the new Sti up close and personal is much more different than looking at pics and can grow on you.

I second this. I was seriously torn (when I first saw the '06's at dealer lots) between the '05 and the '06. At the time, dealers still had some '05's in stock and I was so unsure, I decided to wait a bit to actually buy the car. I would pass by from time to time to compare the two, and little by little, the '06 started growin on me. Now, couple months later, I'm glad that I waited. Now I have a nice puuuuurty lady in white/gold in my garage. I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes to actually be looking at the car in person. My 2 cents.
