Thinkin of WRX or STi
thinkin about either WRX or STi.... of course it would be used. Been checkin the prices out and I thinks used is the way to go. As for insurance hope it isnt to bad.....was lookin at CobbTuning they seem to have alot of internal parts... has anyone done this to either a WRX or STi? Used the search but didnt find what I was lookin for.

well I doubt you'll find many (if any) used STI's but you can pick up an 02 wrx for a good price. What exactly are you looking for as far as tuning? you need to be more specific. If its power your looking for go to the EJ20t subject area of the forum. Do some browsing and most of the information I think your looking for will be around.

Like legacy said it does depend on what you want to do. If you want raw power out the box, go with the STI. To match the HP of the STi using the EJ20t you can do some bolt-ons and proper ECU tuning BUT you wont match the EJ25t tourque with the same mods.
If you wanna have fun tuning, be able to keep up or even beat a stock STi and have $$ left over go with a used 02 WRX. I've seen 02 WRX as low as $17K. Put $10K of performance tuning and parts in it an you have a beast with $ to spare.

hey wrxwagon2b that sounds like a good idea... i guess i neva address'd what i wanted to do with either car, prolly a sleeper is what im wantin to do... like i stated i'll be gettin either car used... around my area there are 3 useed STi's right now at the local subie dealer. but after reading some info on the board looks like i might be goin with the WRX.. depends on when i start my new job what the pay is like, im hoping for at least 40k so i can afford the WRX and mod it and insure it easily... but thanks so much for the input i've been gettin so far...

np man also think of this as a Big sleeper...
get the Samco intercooler hoses, lighter pulleys, and a TXS stage 3 w/o the muffler and use the Stock muffler. OOO weeee talk about Stealth. No one can tell you have that much power because you dont have a BIG *** MUFFLER showing off.
Thats about 4 grand in parts a big smile on your face when you step on it.
