I have a 2001 RS and for some strange reason, the passenger door handle is being pushed in. I mean the door itself is getting a huge dent because of the door handle being used to shut it. Is this a very common problem? The rest of the panels seem to be tip top. I have even been in a collision @ 10 mph with no brakes and not even a scuff in the paint, but this door has got major problems. W T F
no idea. my doors are pretty thick, no damage ata ll on them, and i dont baby my car. i can push on my handles pretty much as hard as i want and they dont flex in at all

When you think about it, who actually holds on to the door handle while they are shutting a car door? Personally, I dont even touch the handle when closing the doors, and I also let go before the door closes completely. .... I dont know, but I think the cause of your dent dilemma lies elsewhere.

The reason people push on the handle is because sometimes when the door shuts it won't latch. The more I am on these forums the more I am starting to realize how much care must be put into my car..............I think I'll go race.
I have a 00 RS and my handles seem to be the same. I mean small dents around the handle itself. I don't know what the reason is. Coukld have been the previous owners shutting the dorr with their A$$ or something.
I think it adds character to the car. Or so I tell myself because I don't want to get the dents removed.
