Take me to your leader...

I'm new... and so is my WRX Just brought it home tonight. I'm like a little kid with a new toy... I'm already looking for fun stuff to do to it and with it.. I'm not planning on getting too crazy.. it's still my wife's daily driver... but it will be my weekend hotrod

It's a WR Blue Wagon.. I wanted a sedan... but I could only come up with two reason why.. looks and a tiny bit of performance. My wife had a list of reasons why the wagon was the least practical car she could live with... we traded in our Grand Caravan.. so it's a major step in the small direction.. We have 2 kids and a dog that tend to prefer to go with us instead of being locked in the closet for the weekend.

Thanks for the great place to come and get good info on this little pocket rocket

welcome

wagons are cool. especially the wrx wagon. don't fret over the sedan/wagon thing. there is really no difference in performance.

the first thing to mod is the tires. get a good set of tires. if you go to the mountains (or live where it is icy and snowy in the winter), possibly get a set of rota rims and good summer/wet tires when you aren't in the snow. the stock rims and tires are fine for nasty weather, but horrible for any other environment.

next, get a boost guage. once you start to mod the motor, you will want to know where the boost is at for saftey purposes.

other than that, the sky is the lmit with these cars. eibach springs would barely lower it, and maintain most of the stock ride (your wife would barely notice ) oh yeah, get a 20mm sway bar for the rear. it helps trememdously.

i could go on and on....have fun, and be safe!!!!

welcome,
well, this is my first Subaru as well. I had to give up my miata for the family. i got a 18mo old. WRX serves us well. even my son enjoys ..umm... getting on the freeway. he gives me two-arms-up approval and a smile when I WOT in 3rd

my question to you is... how can you handle not driving WRX everyday? dont tell me.. your commuter is 911 right?

oh, dont forget to take your Suby on gravel / snow once ina while. what revelation!!
