subaru and saab
subaru and saab
looking closely at the saab 9-2x, its not hard to see that the car is almost the same thing as the wrx/rs wagons... so the question is, do you guys think that the saab will dampen or improve sales of the subaru vehicles? why?

I doubt it will really have an effect either way. Some people would like a WRX but want to have the prestige with a "luxury" brand name. Or maybe they like the WRX but not the looks or the interior. Both are different on the Saab, and admittedly, it looks a lot better in and out than thw WRX wagon.
It's doubtful the 9-2 will get any sales from current die hard saab owners. A lot of those guys noses are WAAAAAY up in the air and they'd never buy a "saabaru", which is fine. Don't want those types on the boards anyways.
I think sales will probably remain the same.

price differential
quality of leather interior
I like the look of the front end and hood scoop more on Saab. I spent about a grand putting leather/vinyl interior in the WRX, so depending on how much better the leather offered in the Saab was, it might have made sense to me. My guess is that the price premium would have not been justified.
