Subaru Parents of Babies
Subaru Parents of Babies
Ok, Im thinking about getting another subi. Well my son was just born on 03/11/2011. The only problem im encountering is the fact that when we have his car seat in his moms car, I cant drive because the front drivers seat is to close for my tall butt! Im 6'4.
So my question for the parents or parents that have had a baby with their ride, preferably taller than 6'3, did you have any issues putting a car seat in the back seat? Im thinking about a rex, but considering the fact that i need more room to accommodate my son so i can drive him places im thinking or getting a foxxy xt...Does a carseat fit in the rear with enough room for a taller person to drive? I wont put my son on the side so the only spot is in the middle. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As for the 04 SG Forester XT you can fit the Infant rear facing infant car seat in the middle and still use the safety latch's. But with your height it will not fit directly behind you.
The 2012 SF Forester has more room in the rear seat.
Another alternative also if your tight on space is to use the Todler Car seat facing rear once he is within minimum weight or around 10 - 20 lbs. Its not as reclined like the infant carrier and may gain you some space. Also consider the space you need for the diaper bag and stroller. The Forester may be the better choice than Impreza Wagon since the trunk is wider, deaper and taller.
I also have a baby girl and is 7 months now. I sold my AE86 for the Forester for the baby room and still have the sport car sleeper. I'll measure again once I have a chance with the seat backed up all the way.

2012
41.6 / 43.1

Just bring a baby seat to the dealership put in the back, adjust your seat and see for yourself. I wouldn't want you to buy a car and it not work out. Best to have safety in mind for your baby then comfort for yourself.
And congrats btw on your baby!

02 wrx wagon...two kiddie seats (3.5 yr and 5.5 yr old)...I'm 5'8" and it's a very very very tight fit...can't wait until they can sit in boosters! My wife's 01 civic ex sedan has more interior (and trunk) space than the wrx
