Got my eye on the new WRX wagon for a few months now and I am looking to get my very first Subaru this coming Spring (waiting to see if the new Legacy is worth the wait).

In the meantime, I trying to find ways to get the best possible deal on the car. I am planning to get the car at invoice through IMBA/Costco and let my girlfriend loose on my Subaru MasterCard to rack up my Subaru Bucks.

I understand that it's possible to use Subaru Bucks on a new car purchase and service/parts. I was wondering if I get financed from Subaru, can I use my Subaru Bucks on my monthly car payments? That would really sweeten the deal!

 

I guess I should rephrase my question. . .

Can I PAY my car payments (that is being financed by Subaru) with my Subaru Bucks? I want to use my Subaru Bucks TOWARDS my monthly car payments. So rather than writing a check for $300 for my monthly car payment, I want to send in $300 worth of Subaru Bucks.

Is this possible? Again, this is being financed through Subaru.

 

Yeah you can do that, but subaru only lets you make like 500 bucks a year. Once you are over that you are just spending money. But you can pay one month. I think the money would be better spent on maintenance and stuff.

You have to go to the dealer to pay your payment with your credit card I think. I know there have been people that have used it for extra down payment. IMO i think that it is better spent elsewhere. If you put down an extra 500 or so dollars your monthly payment on a 5yr loan is only like 10 dollars less or something which doesn't make sense to spend 500 just to do that.

Are Subaru Bucks transferable? If my girlfriend/parents/friends gets their own Subaru card, can I use their Subaru Bucks? How strict are the dealers when you redeem your Subaru Bucks?

 

no, they are not transferable, but your gf could just come to the dealer with you and use hers. They can be used on a car that is not theirs(at least I don't think they are transferable.)
