you could argue that an STi is just an impreza...just like any gc8...but its not...its not just a modded rex either...

I'm not saying they are identical. I would've bought an sti if there wasn't a $7000 dealer markup when I was shopping. I'm just sick of people saying that a wrx will never be an sti.. its a stupid thing to say. Sure it can, if you want to you can buy the sti long block, 6spd, bbs, brembos, gauges, seats, etc and throw it in your wrx, thus making it identical to an sti. Problem is you would spend much more than the (now retail) of an sti from the factory. When they first came out, this wasn't the case because of the markups all the dealers were adding (at least in CA).
