Sti Prices - WOW!
Stopped by my dealer Wed, the guys are like, "We got three STi's just in!"
Indeed, white, black, and a dark grey(?). My first time checking one out in person. I don't need to elaborate on how cool that was...
So I look at the sticker - $31.5k
I make a lame banter/quip about "31k and no stereo..."
He cuts me off and points to a piece of handwritten paper on another window- $36k!!!!
I didn't realize they were being marked up like this!
He said all three have bids on them.
I was kinda surprised. Any thoughts?

Yeah they are a rip off. People will soon learn that they are not worth 40k and that is exactly why they are a 30k car. You can buy a wrx new and make it much better than an STi for much cheaper. I wouldn't pay more than msrp for a car because that is already marked up like mad. Just my thoughts.

The dealer I bought my WRX from said he'd give me the same deal on an STi if I changed my mind and wanted that instead - straight invoice (I guess the buyer cancelled before delivery or something...). I bought through Costco's auto program, which had no-haggle pre-set prices. I didn't have the extra $5k (= $100/mo. more).
I'm just going to hold off as long as I can (likely 36,000mi) and then throw some mods on.
I remember when Honda S2000's were new on the block they had a $6000 dealer markup (this was in Seattle). I was stunned.

Yes - prices seem reasonable in New England...My brother in law was looking at STi's and several of the dealers have cars sitting on their lots that were ordered then the buyer backed out on them...poor little fella's
(the homeless STi's that is...), sounds to me like it would be fairly easy to pay sticker up here...
