Nice read, and the Ferrari owners were pretty objective about it, along with some of them proudly sharing their feelings on owning both a Ferrari and an STi. Still, in the hands of capable drivers the difference between those two cars would be less. The STi owner sounded like he'd had road course experience.

That was great, I don't agree with some of the things said about the STI, like this one guy on page 2 was saying that the STI couldn't beat the 360 in the 1/4 mile, " much less on a road course or twisties."

i see ferraris and lambos everyday, and i dont see to many of them drivin hard. its funny how those guys on that board say "ferrari racing heritage" when the only reason why they are driving one is because enzo ferrari had to build street cars to fund his racing team. and that subarus heritage was more in the wrc then formula 1. i know a few people with ferraris and they all love my wrx. some peeps are just narrow minded you cant help all of them~!! just grin and bare it~!!

I think if we can all be honset with ourselves we all have product loyalties but, in the end I would like to think that we are even more than that car enthusiasts. Plainly, a nice car is a nice car regardless of who's badge it has on it. The STI's has fantastic performance off the showroom floor, for that there is no doubt. A Ferrari on the other hand is more a status symbol, IMO, they are fast as well but, they seem to be more a "look at me" car, IMO.
Bottom line it is always nice to pull on a car that costs way more than your car does...especially if the guy is a pompus azz. I had the joy of pulling away from an AMG SL55 on the freeway in my Stage 4 Audi S4 the other day but, the guy was way cool, rolled up after and gave me a thumbs up. I have a friend with a Vishnu Stage 1 on his STI and he gives me hard rubs.....wish I could get that kind of power from a Stage 1.

Makes me feel real good that ferrari owners are saying stuff like "gotta watch out for em STI's"...lol, I only got a WRX but I'd love to swap trunks with one of em.
