STi at Chicago Auto show

Hey Guys,
Just went to the Chicago Auto Show today. All I have to say is wow. I always going to the auto show and checking out all the cars that I love.
A few cars that I really enjoyed were the Lexus IS300 (Getaway fans can appreciate this car ) Also I was into the VW GTI. Very nice.
But the car that took my heart was the STi. Wow! It was quite an experience to see this car in person. Everything looked great. I like the interior. (although it was on a rotating deal, not for the public to touch) The engine compartment looked phenominal, that 300 hp engine really looks great. Everything about it seemed to capture my eye. Was a little bored when the lady came up to talk about it because I had aready spent months reading about it and talking to you guys
But more realistically for me I sat in the 04 WRX. Very nice car. I enjoyed the interior. The seats were comfortable, and I did not feel cramped in the front seat. The shifter was smooth and went through the gears very smoothly. The dash was visually appealing and so was the rest of the interior. Just wish I was able to try one out.
Well seriously thinking about getting an 02 WRX after the summer. If it's anything like the new one besides asthetic things, im sold.
Anyone else experience this car in Chi-town or anywhere else?

I went there on opening day - heard the rap about the STi too. It was funny to hear the Subie guy talking about the advantages of this car when doing such un-PC things as stoplight racing. That was cool to hear. But there is no doubt in my mind that the winner of that show was the new Mustang. Flat out gorgeous in person. I've never owned a Ford, and I can't say that I ever will, but if I did, it would be this one. A hottie-hot-hot version of a '67 basically. Sure, you can argue the merits of AWD vs. RWD and Subie quality vs. Ford quality all day long, but if the looks of the new Mustang don't get your blood pumping, then you are in serious need of medical attention, or you need a couple more rainbow stickers on your bumper. Being a GM guy born n bred, I was hoping for something special out of the new GTO. Pffft. Hot drivetrain for sure, but more boring looks-wise than a Grand Am. Very disappointed. Of course, opinions are like a-holes: everybody has one, and someone always thinks that yours stinks. My opinion on the STi? Killer performance, blase' styling. And please: lose that godawful wing. Also, I prefer the old headlights and foglights myself, like on my '03 WRX. They are a love it or hate it item. The new ones are more standardized, i.e., more acceptable to the general public, I guess. Personally, I like the way the previous style made the car instantly recognizable. But the new air scoop is cooler on the '04 WRX than mine. Of course it is very cool on the STi. I wonder if the new one will fit on my car....

HEY STIGuy300
I was wondering... since you got to sit in the 04 model and liked it so much which model did you like better, the 02 or the 04? Im gonna get the WRX wagon 02 or 03 but was wondering how differnt 04 is compared to those 2. If you can recall how it felt please post it. Personally i like the 02-03 body better than the 04.

Actually I was quite confortable in the 04. There was plenty of leg room. The shifter was in a good position away from the seat. The seats themselves were nice and comfy. The padding was nice in them. I was in no way shape or form cramped. (im 6ft)
I felt that the 04 was as nice as the 02 and 03. It's just a great all around car. I took a few pics and I hope to have them up by the end of the week. Hope that helps.
