Just curious if anyone else has had issues with their stereo units on a 2011 WRX/STI. I took mine in back in April, because it was having issues with the music playing through my USB connected iPod. Service didn't give me specifics but was able to identify some problem and replaced the whole unit.

A few months ago (as the temperatures started to decrease) I noticed that in the mornings, my stereo unit would NOT turn on. After driving for about 30 minutes it would cut back on. Also every now and then if I hit a bump on the freeway sometimes it will intermittently cut on and off.

I was just curious if anyone has had the same problem? (before taking a day off to have to dealer look at it and tell me they'll need to keep if for a day/two)

 

SO! after having the unit changed out twice over a coursse of 8 months or so... I was still seeing the radio cut out after the most recent radio unit switch out. TURNS OUT the fuse for the radio was worn! It had some weird build-up around it- it wasn't busted, which was surprising grated I've had the car a little over a year and a half now.

What's upsetting was that this was not the first thing the dealer checked. I had to find this out myself and felt stupid for not checking sooner! -__-

All is well, bumping and blasting music happily with no interruptions! :-D
