O/P, welcome to the board.
As to the topic, well, I've driven every vehicle I've ever owned for Snowboarding. From a pos '80 Courier, a '80 USGP Celica Special, a 2nd-Gen 4Runner, to my current FullSize Ram Truck. Almost anywhere from Plattekill, to Hood, to Mammoth and everywhere connected and in-between. Heck, I've had two wrecked form idiot snow drivers.
It ultimately isn't about what you drive or a given "Quintessential", it's driving what best suits your needs at that time. (GASP-BLASPHEMY!?)
Subaru's are loved and respected in mountain communities, the East Coast, and elsewhere for a reason, they take a lot of punishment and keep on ticking.
I don't miss my soft topped Jeep at all, but then again some small part of me misses the Forester I just traded in.
The Hemi and 4wd make up for it though.
Run what ya bring and if a buddy has one you can ride-along in with for an adventure or two take the opportunity. For me the allure of being back in a Subaru was outweighed by the needs of the house and family.
So, seeing ya put in your signature ya got a Wrangler, nice, let's see pics of it.
