Should I get rid of my WRX?
Should I get rid of my WRX?
I been thinking about this for the past couple of days. Should I get rid of my 2003 wrx with only 16000 miles on it? Let me take a minute to explaing myself. The other day, i took a trip down to a local subaru dealership to pick up a oem part. (part i lost during my attempt to install an uppipe
) Anywho, as I was leaving i spotted about 4 stis in the lot. So i took a look. I fell in love and was serious jelous. So a couple days went by. I could not stop thining about it. Now I want one. I mean I poured in so much money into mods (at least I think i did), and now, I want an STI. Should I wait? If so, when would be the best time to trade or sell my car and buy an STI?

no, give ME your car, get an STI, and I'll still let you visit your old rex every once and awhile. Seriously though, I'd say look at your financial situation, if you can easily afford it, go for the STI. Otherwise just save you money for mods.

If you have not paid off your WRX you will have to finance the difference etween what you sell fi for and what you owe as well as the difference in price on the STi. For some this is not an issue. If it were me I would rather save the money and get mods.

I second Legacy's opinion on the financial situation. First, look into how many of your 'rex mods could be easily transferred to an STi, then take what's left over, and see if you can get someone to agree to buy it BEFORE you sell your car. It is generally not a good idea to sell mods with the car, as you won't get much money for them. Also, what mods have you done to your 'rex?

How much of a loss, if any, did folks take who had heavily modded their car?
Did they part it out and then sell parts, or were able to sell the car with all parts on and still break even, or at least come close?
All I'll say about my own situation is that I am decisively upside down on my note
but I would love to have an STI.Oh, one thing to add. My car is HEAVILY modded.
turbo back exhaust, uppipe, mbc, bov, samco ic hoses, snorkle removed, K&N air filter, vishnu unichip, jun eyelids, side skirts painted, zero sport grill, tints, sound system, turbo gauge, indiglo gauges, clear side markers, sylvania silverstars, fog light covers, synthetic oil change every 5k miles since 1k miles, synthetic gear oil changed 10 miles ago...Im pretty positive if i trade it in, i can get the pay off. They always seem to meet the pay off. The hassle would be to put a downpayment on a new car and starting the payments over!lol. i dunno. i want an sti
