Getting you car moving from a dead stop the fastest way possible. I think the term comes from a space shuttle. Scoobys usually have weaker trannys and are REALLY easy to mess up if you "launch" to hard. The downfall to that level of grip.

so, what IS a safe rpm to dump the clutch? in my old NA mr2, i found 4k reasonable enough without having the car smell like barbeque for a day.
also, in regular city driving, do u find that u need to feather the clutch a bit at around 1.5k-2k in first gear to get it to go anywhere?
