Question Rookie to Turbo

Ok, this may be a dumb question but.... what is turbo creep. is this the same as turbo lag? im sorry if i sound like a retard but im just in the know of N/A motors.

Boost creep is rising boost due to not enough exhaust bypassing the housing. For example, you're set for 13 psi, and when you floor it, you get a quick rise to 13 or 14 psi. But then as rpm's climb, the boost creeps higher and higher: 14, 15, 16, 17, etc. Enlargening the wastegate hole is one cure for boost creep.

Yup. Can ruin your turbo, that's why tuning after mods is important in a turbo car.

Question

Ok, so would tuning be necessary after i were to install lets say, an intake and cat-back? sorry im asking "dumb" questions. i just dont know. I am getting a STi soon and i just need to research into things, ya know?

I don't think those mods will need tuning, especially if you buy ones specific made for the sti. Your ecu can learn from simple mods like that.
