Rally Sport Impreza Outback??

Rally Sport Impreza Outback??
Hey, I'm new to the forum, have had my subaru for a year and love it, and finally decided to get my act together and join. I have yet to find a car exactly like mine, and have a few questions. Anyone have an edition of the Outback Sport known as the Rally Sport? Mine is a 1997. can anyone tell me why it is specifically a Rally Sport, and not just an Outback Sport??? anyone else have one?

RS is an Impreza Trim designation that suposedly stands for Rally Sport.
According to Edmunds.com:
The first US production car with the RS designation is a 1998 2dr Coupe.
The Outback designation was first used for the Impreza Wagon in 1995. Before then the wagon trim levels were L and LS.
In 1997 it was renamed the Outback Sport probably to distinguish it from the Legacy Outback brand that was expanded that year.
I was not able to find a wagon with a RS designation. Only L, LS, LX, Outback, Outback Sport, TS
So either you have a special edition or the OBS was also known as the Rally Sport at one point. One possibility it was originally going to be called RS but since rallying isn't widely appreciated in the US, SOA came up with the "Outback" idea instead.

Looks like we've got an infestation of post hijack monkeys as a result.
Hard to control those things once they get going.
So where's Meg? Driving 90 miles an hour in the opposite direction looking for somewhere to buy monkey repellant I shouldn't wonder.
