So i was goin down this road....decide to see what my stock 02 subaru wrx can do. I get going, soon I'm up to 135 when something on my car lets out thsi scream. It was like pressure or something built up and something blew. It was a very low toned sound but was very loud. So i eased off the throttle and when it came to about 110-120 the noise got softer, still deep, then eventually quit all together. Anyone have any input on this. Car seems to run fine and the turbo still kicks in on its usual time. Any help would be greatful. Thanks

 

Check for vacuum hoses popped off

A lot of people have problems with the mirrors whistling when you get to like 110 or so. My guess is it would be that. But checking the engine once over would not be a bad idea to prevent any further damage.

 

Cool. Like I said, nothings really acting up on it anymore. But when I was washing it a few days ago i notice that one of the bumper snaps had been broken, the ont the connects the bumper to the fender well. Thanks for all your help. But I'm almost certain it wasnt a mirror or anything, it seemed to be coming fro under the hood.
