Wild guess, but are you also known as BOO? Anyways, if you get a VIP Membership, you can have an avatar (or moderator/Staff Member). Thats pretty much the only way. Alex gives away VIP memberships for various reasons. Most recently, it was if you helped with the product review stuff, but I don't know if that is still going on. You just gotta keep your eyes peeled to see when Alex posts stuff about VIP Memberships being available.

insurance... i was paying about $145 a month for just my '03 wrx, and i'm 27 with a decent driving record. i added my wife and it went to about $220 for both of our cars.
