Older STi's???

There were older STi's but they were not availible stateside, the first STi that we recieved was in 2004, other impreza's you might see with the badge is because they got it to look like an STi or whatever.

As stated, there have been STis long before the US got one in '04. If you see an STi badge on a WRX over here it could be that the owner likes STi (remember, STi is a tuning company, not just a car) or maybe that person has an STi drivetrain in their WRX.

Not in America there weren't 
But overseas, the STi's been around since January of 1994; the Impreza (including the WRX) since September of 1992.
