Oil In Vacuum Lines and Turbo

So I took my intercooler off to replace my pcv and clean the throttle body and noticed oil in my vac lines. I've posted curious threads about my weird idle when I have my heat on in the cabin (it's winter) and they've suspected a vac leak. But is oil in vac lines a sign of piston rings wearing?

It seems as though you have a few things you are worried about. Here's my advice. Where are you located? Are you near the Bay Area? We are blessed to have several great shops around here that will give you the straight poop on your car. They will not gouge you or try to sell you anything you dont need.

Stay away from the dealership.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you could set up a catch can system that would eliminate this.

correct a catchcan would eliminate this and you can get them cheap depending on Where you go, the issue I have with this is that this oil thing is pretty common, soa slacked in this area and saying that this was designed to burn off the oil. I see no oil being burned only oil getting in everything lol

I believe I had this issue before as well. From what I gather and from what others have said, it's nothing major to worry about. It seems "normal", but yes, if you have the monays, a catch can could definitely help with your worries.

Let us know how it goes!

I thought about doing a catch can, but for some reason, I held off on it. I think it was because I don't really need it.

I'm just new to the subie world and trying to get an idea of why things are the way they are. I'm not just a normal car owner that drives it till it dies then wonders why. I can be paranoid at times but I wanna know what's going on at the same time. I'm trying to avoid shops so I can afford high quality parts. I'm in east Washington in spokane.

So I've been looking at aos's and my subie pro buddy said Crawford is the best out of all of them. But it's $380 bucks. Really?! And nowhere can I find one cheaper. Any alternatives?

the way I see is u can make one out of some tubes and scrap metal and it would do the same job, it doesn't do anything performance just removes the oil problem so Why waste 400 bucks on a can and some tubes check eBay or check on here and see if someone has one for sale you can use universal aswell.
