You may actually want to start a thread on that for the best input. I owned a '97 Outback when I lived in Seattle (perfect snow boarding car to load up with gear) and I never had any problems. I've seen people with pretty high milage Subarus though (>100k miles)... and there are still a ton of the old GL wagons on the road. Of course, most likely all of those people don't rally cross and auto cross. However, I'd think that Subaru is at least in the same camp as Honda and Toyota.

Thanks. By the way I took my Impreza everyowhere through the blizzard this past winter, as I laughed at all my friends in their pretty SUVs that couldn't make it anywhere with primary RWD, I LOVE AWD. My only problem is that I would climb atop the snow and if I didn't go fast enough I would bottom out and make a hell of a show throwing snow around. (One reason I want a better suspension)
Front strut braces are unnecessary, but the RSB is a good idea. Stock suspension is good for snow though. Others are too low.

The stock RE92's do alright on the dirt, snow, mud, gravel and tarmac. BUT, IMO the best that can be said about them is that they are black and round. I upgraded to RE950's and that is the tire that should have come with the WRX. Hook up with your local SCCA www.scca.org to learn the limits of your car, it's a blast and there are a lot of cool people willing to give you pointers on your new ride.

The pics were taken on Latrobe Rd. Its a legal regular road it just hasn't been paved to it has dirt and gravel. But latley Ive been driving on Jeager road off Douglas Blvd and there is this small circuit that if driven over enough times could be a fun rally course .
