Thanks everyone, I was also wondering if getting a BOV would be worth it? ive heard bad and good from everyone.

BOVs are worthless on WRXs until pushing higher boost (17+ i think, but feel free to correct me). If you're stock it will just make you run rich and give you rough idle, unless you get a 50/50 BOV/BPV.

Hahaa... I knew something like this would pop-up from a newbie. WELCOME!!

To answer your question... a BOV on an STi or WRX is just for sound (cool factor, in addition to "Monoxide's" reply) and may or may not hurt the performance of the car. If you want that whooshing sound, you can take off the silencer located on the right fender of the STi.

Here's the link to know how to do it..

Scoobymods.com has a lot of cool stuff you can do to your car.. check 'em out!

Instead of buying a bov, do a snorkus delete. It's a quick, easy, and most importantly a free mod that will open up the sound of your bov and engine... not to meantion improve spool up times a bit. The install details are on scoobymods.com

Welcome, be sure to check out the bay area section.

There is a Meets section and a Classifieds section at the top above all the posts incase you want to see where you can check out a local meet, or to buy some products for your car locally.

From my understanding, it's supposed to recirculate back to the turbo. And by having a 100% atmospheric release bov, the turbo will then lose breath, therefore, it will have to make up for the loss of pressure due to the bov releasing air. If you really want a bov, go for GFB, it's 50/50.
