new wrx owner need opinions
hello, i just bought a wrx off Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1876374411
2002 Blaze Yellow WRX This car has been modified as follows: C-West body kit; OZ Prodrive wheels w/ Pirelli P-Zero tires; VF-22 turbo; MRT Front Mount intercooler; DMS 50mm adjustable coilovers; Wilwood Brakes; 6 pot in front, 4 pot rear GFB blow off valve; Carbon fiber hood; Uni-chip; tuned by Cobb: STI strut braces front and rear; Full MRT stainless turbo back exhaust w/ up pipe.
I got a great deal on it. THe owner had $$$ so he took a loss while i gained. is there any advise on how to take care and anything else? i just got into wrx a few months ago and i want know if i good a good deal. the car runs great and it is vey fast.
i still have no clue on the boost system and i cant tell if is a hort shifter has been added. i want pinn ood because the hoods kinda shakes at high speeds.
Should i put a grill to protect the frnt mount cooler from bugs rocks?
what do i do if bugs and other things go i my cooler?
if anyone can help me i would appreciate it.
i know i know. i threw myself in car that is way over my head but i love it and i want to know everything about it.
thanks alot

thanks...It only has 13,000 miles on it. another question..... when i am at 80 mile gunning it the car cuts off for a second so i guess the engine doesnt over do it. the old owner told me that its a suburu thing because the boost is to much and the engine cuts off fuel... it sounds logical. correct??

it does it when i am in 4th or 5th gear going towards a hundred. then the check engine lights comes on. i think becacause of the pipes. when ever i gun it hard. the person who got it installed did run it. he did alot of dino work. does that really effect the car? i am thinking about getting turbo timer. does it go next to the cup holder?
also i am thinking of getting a trim cant decide on polish metal, black carbon fiber or yellor carbon fiber. give opinions please

you have *****, i dont think i could spend that much money with out seeing it, looks bad ***, but i am sure that it has been beat. no one modifies a car and then drives it like a old lady. as far as the engine cut off is sounds like the car is advancing the timing to avoid detanation, especially if the check engine light comes on, get it looked at ASAP and stop flooring it until then. i hate to say it but the car may have some problems that will cost you $$. good luck

thanks for the advise. i will get it checked out. so can anyone tell me about the vf 22 turbo. i have no clue what brand i even got. so you guys dont have a fuel cut off in ur subbies? my engine does not cut off but it did today when i gunned it around 80 miles. the engine check sign is gone today also. its wierd. i am still trying to figure out what stage its in. man oh man. hahaha guess what else i just figured out. i have to switch on the high beams to get the low beams to work. i have been driving around with my regular light but really its been in high beam. the jackass who installed it mush have switched up the wires.
so shoud i switch the wires one each headlight or is there one connecting to the switch.
man oh man............. everyone wants to race me. i got ticket yesterday and today a 92 galant vr something( the fourwheeled drive turbo challened me.
its sad but my home town is so backwards that the racing scene finally made it here and people everywhere is looking to race.
cant wait to go back to the city of austin.
i will keep you guys updated on my car. i think its not a lemon.... we will see.........

nice ride, i remember seeing that aution when i was browsing the other day.
Engine cut off - I've had a bit of experience with this problem, and there are a few things i learned. With that vf22 turbo its probubly running a lot more pressure then stock, I had a problem with just my stock turbo over boosting in the high gears with my boostcontroller (lots of fine tuning fixed that). fact is, if your hitting the cut off always when you pin it in 4th/5th gear then you should turn down your boost. As well, if that car IS running a lot of extra boost, it had better have its fuel system upgraded (at least a new pump, high flow injectors and a larger fuel rail would add nicely) not doing so could end up running way too lean at higher pressures. (every suggestion I have seen says that you should upgrade fuel system if you go above 15psi on a north american WRX, I run 12-17 through the RPM's though and i havent installed my new pump yet. lil lean at times, but no knocking like it used to *doh* ) any who, those are a few points and sugestions. Hope it comes in handy, just remember to be gentle on the new rex till you figured out all the tweaking you need to do, wouldnt want that purdy lil thing to blow up on ya
.
Anywho, peace out, drive safe, and enjoy your new toy :P
