So I am not sure what the rest of you think, but I would like to know. First, my thoughts. I think the car looks aggressive and cool, however, call me old school, but if it looks fast, it should be, yes? With 175 hp, and no Turbo, they are going to introduce a Sti model as well, still no Turbo, a little lighter and faster. Subaru says it has no room for an intercooler, thus no turbo, and for the same reason, it will not be all-wheel drive. They want to leave the all-wheel drive and turbo in the Imprez. and up models. I do agree with this method. I am not sure what all the hype is about the new Subaru BRZ, plus they have teamed up with Toyota/scion. eeekk Yes it has the boxer engine, but not the STi Zing What do you think?

These cars are way more comfortable than an Impreza, driver seat position can't be matched in any other Subaru, it's not heavy and it goes exactly where you point the nose without complaints. Bottom line, don't knock it till you try it, cause these cars will surprise you..

Thanks for your input, not really knocking it, just trying to get others out take on it. The only real valid disapproval I have is that they split the car up between two companies. However it is an interesting strategic business arrangement. Looking foward to any mods "turbo wise" that they could make for these cars. Down force? ---- No Problem.

You're a little late on this topic discussion. And like I say a lot to people that question this cars existence, go drive one, though you won't be able to unless you're buying one for the most part. I own a FR-S and I can tell you that these cars are highly cappable cars with great performance. It's a solid sports car with great engineering behind it. And when you take the car to redline the engine just wants to keep going, there's plenty of power with spirited acceleration. If you threw a turbo on these cars it would be almost scary the power to weight ratio, and it would need a lot more aero work (downforce) to keep the car from getting out of control. At high speeds on back roads it loses a good amount of stability so I can only imagine if you gave it 50-70 more HP.

It's a car that comes stock with Prius tires....
Put some decent wheels/rubber on this car and it will florish.
It wasn't meant to be a turbo awd impreza...
It was made to be a driving car.
As far as the split between two companies.... Hugely successful in my opinion.
Other companies have done it. I don't like how Scion has all the commercial time though.
Every time I tell my friends that the FR-S is the same as the BR-Z, they are like, "what?"
Never have seen any BR-Z commercials as of yet.
I do look forward to a nicer trim STI version of the car though. I would buy that.

We love ours! Seriously I cannot imagine a better car in this category. It was never designed to be a high power or "fast" in anyway, but I would certainly not hesitate to call it a quick car. The best thing is the feel of driving it, it responds lighting quick to your input, and gives quite a bit of feedback as well, not anything like the previous Subaru lineup, you almost have to drive it to believe it. If you are interested in it, do yourself a favor and go for a test drive. I think you will love it! Oh and don't let the Prius tires scare you away, they grip like you would not believe, I know this for a fact haha!
Thanks,
Rick

I'm not much of a fan of the BRZ/FR-S a lot of Scion fan boys rave too much about the FR-S and Subaru's teaming with Scion/Toyota did not really shock me but i'm more of a keep it in the family type of guy. The STi zing is amazing and should just be kept at is. Scion fan boys just praise the FR-S too much to even come to appreciate that the real craftsmanship behind it is Subaru especially if the FR-S uses the Boxer Engine. It's truly a good looking car but not my cup of tea. Like I said plain and simple just keep it in the family :P
