Ok.. Life is starting to force my hand. Need a house with a garage before I can really start monkeying with the car an d my Wife want a grand cherokee. So its either the WRX on my Jeep Wrangler that's getting traded. The Jeep has about 10k worth of suspension work done to it and it probably won't resell real well, so its probably the subie that has to go.

I really want to rallyx something and have a fast play toy that's AWD. Doesn't need power windows, really doesn't need an interior as far as I'm concerned.

So I was thinking of trading in the 02 an d trying to find a 'shell' in good condition from one of the earlier generation impreza's (the 2 door variety). Then dropping my 2.0 of choice in as well as a functional tranny. While its apart it would get the seam welding/cage treatment.

Does anyone know how hard it is to come across a shell in good shape? I'm guessing I could even get away with an older L model considering what I'm doing with it.

Also, how hard is it to get the 22b style fenders?

Any opinions welcome.
