new to the club just saying hi
hi everyone, my name is Rafael, im a student in DAytona Beach at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University form Puerto Rico and just want to introduce myself. i also want to say that i am looking into buying an 01 imprezza and just wanted people's view on the car.

Welcome, Rafael! I can't comment on the '01 Impreza, since I don't have any experience with them, but I'm sure someone will jump on here. In the meantime, utilize the search feature as much as possible...you'll find a lot of answers. The amount of information here is incredible.
OT - I almost went to Embry-Riddle to become a pilot, but changed my mind and went somewhere else. Again, welcome to the club.

Welcome Rafael! Since you are going to school at one of the motor speed capitals of the world, consider looking for an '02 or later Impreza WRX. Look for one with reasonable mileage and no mods and you'll have a quick, nimble car that will last you a good while.

I would go with the early Impreza. I love mine and would probably buy another one.
With the early cars you always want to check for head-gasket problems. Even with the phase II (sohc) problems can happen. Subaru released a tech. service letter about a coolant additive that needs to be put in, make sure the previous owner has addressed this issue.
